    Marjoram

Origin: Egypt                                Botanical Name: Organum Majorana

Often called sweet marjoram , this perennial herb is related to oregano and is popular in Italian cuisine.  It has a more subtle, sweeter flavor than its cousin.

Today oil of marjoram is used in soaps, creams, lotions, and perfumes.

The dried leaves compliment many potpourri recipes.
